19yr old man kills female in Newbridge while kids are home
Henrico County police are searching for a Richmond man they say shot his ex-girlfriend to death early today at her Highland Springs apartment.
Warrants charging Alvin Rashawn Marshall, 19, of the 3200 block of Chamberlayne Avenue with murder were sworn out shortly after Tiffany Lakesha Green, 21, was fatally wounded in a shooting shortly after 12:30 a.m. at an apartment in the 300 block of Newbridge Road.
Marshall is black with brown eyes and black hair, is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds.
Lt. Mark A. Banks said two small children and the victim’s sister were in the apartment at the time of the shooting but were not physically harmed.
Banks described Marshall as the victim’s ex-boyfriend.
“He’s been harassing her for a little bit now,” Banks said. “He had some words with her and ended up shooting her multiple times.”
Green was declared dead at the scene.
Online court records show Marshall is due in Henrico General District Court on April 11 in connection with charges against him dealing with Green. The records show Marshall was arrested march 1 at 9 a.m. and charged with extortion, assault and telephone harrassment _ all citing Green as the victim in events that took place Feb. 22.
The court records indicate Marshall was arrainged March 3 and apparently released on bond pending his April court date.
